Old Victorian School Converted Into Modern Loft In Southwest London

Dubbed the “London Loft project”, this apartment was designed by London-based practice JC Decor. It can be found in what used to be an old Victorian School. The entire place was refurbished and the transformation took 8 months. Completed in 2013, the loft now features an interesting mix of modern and classical elements. It has a beautiful architecture, featuring a variety of preserved details which give it character and personality.

The apartment spreads over three floors and the overall distribution of the spaces is quite nice. The main living space has 200 ft high ceilings and floor made partially of glass.

The dark wood stain on the floor and some of the furniture gives this space an elegant look. The kitchen is part of an open plan and it has marble countertops and modern appliances. I really like the fact that the kitchen is large and spacious and also connected to the living area.

The interior architecture of the apartment was really beautiful and most of the original features were preserved. So to allow them to stand out, the interior design was kept modern and minimalistic. The designers chose a combination of vintage and modern pieces for the apartment in order to give it character and to remain faithful to its history and present state. The mix of styles is really beautiful and there’s a very nice balance throughout the décor.-Via
